Great fusion menu with lots of interesting dishes and drinks! Number of people: 2-6 Food: Lots of great options and great combination of ideas and plays with spices/sauces. Meat, fish, dairy, carbs had great options and even were asked for allergies for the group. Drinks: Great cocktails! Usually drink wine but stuck to cocktails all night!

Cannot overstate how much I LOVE this place! Truly one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in New York and I’ve lived here for a while! From services, food, atmosphere, to drinks, everything was immaculate and my friends and I all had a wonderful time.

I’ve been lucky to have a few different types of experiences here: the tasting menu with several friends, hanging out at the bar for drinks and apps, and brunch at the summer pop up, Dogwood Cafe. Every time has been a delight! The food is phenomenal and like nothing you’ve had before. Drinks are delicious as well. The fried skate is one of my favorite dishes I’ve had all year and the creativity of the hush puppy egg waffle is as eye catching as it is tasty. I’d recommend this place for a date night, a night out with friends, and the cocktails are so great it is perfect for stopping in before a night out. Love this place!

The Bolobao was insane, the skate was fire, the ice cream was also a highlight. The grits were creamy and delicious paired perfectly with the langoustine/scampi?. Cocktails were cool and creative, especially mixing in Baijiu which isn't seen that much.

One of my absolute favorite meals this year. Service, vibe and food were all 10/10. Standouts for us were the spare ribs, wedge salad, seafood tower (the razor clams and smoked fish dip especially) and the prawns and grits. Great wine list as well. Highly recommend for a date night or fun friend/family dinner.

Most Asian fusion restaurants aren't worth the generators they use, so muddled and confused are their dishes. Figure Eight defies that stereotype, mixing Southern US and pan-Chinese elements in insanely delicious creations that actually make sense. Start with the creamy Breakfast Chowder to understand how the hot soy milk your parents used to force on you at Sunday dim sum can be the perfect base for rich, garlicky mollusk broth. Better yet, that youtiao you used to eat by the stick can be turned into a delightfully twisted version of itself and serve as the perfect dipping mechanism to sop up the remaining broth. The Crab & Pimento Cheese Dip is a tasty extra for seafood lovers, but probably the weakest item we had. Instead, focus on the mala-infused Hot Fried Skate that combines Szechuan spice with chicken-fried steak technique. Genius, no? But our standout savory item was actual a modest side dish: the "Hong Shao" Collard Greens. At 8, this was large enough to be its own entree. And the fusion! Taiwanese red braise technique--like the kind my family has been using for generations--is the perfect form of cooking to infuse pork belly flavor into earthy collard greens. What better illustration of Southern US and Chinese fusion is there? For sweets, skip the Pecan Sesame Tangyuan, which was dry and lackluster. Instead, order two of the Corn Jalapeno Bolobao for every person in your party--otherwise, your relationships might end as you fight for the last bite out of the skillet. This Bolobao bears no resemblance to the crisp spheres you used to buy for a buck at Chinese bakeries, yet its delicately sweet flavor and pillowy texture will still evoke the same nostalgia in your mouth. If Figure Eight has any business sense, they'll start offering this Bolobao to go. Drinks-wise, Puff, the Magic Sorghum is a delicious concoction that tastes like liquefied leaves--not for people who dislike earthy tastes, but perfect for this nature lover. The non-imbibers will like the Black Ginger Fizz, which makes your mouth sing without making your mind fuzzy.

Small and very nicely decorated and so many special touches to provide great service here. The wine, cocktail, and beer lists are well done and the food is exceptional. They have a separate gluten free menu that very clearly shows what can and cannot be made GF. Some of my favorites were the scallop crudo, the wagyu skewers and the hot fried skate. Save room for dessert!

A delightful experience! The corn bolobao and choy starfruit salad were standout dishes, bursting with flavor and creativity. We also had long beans in peanut sauce, grilled oysters and hot fried skate. The lovely staff and sorghum gift pack added an extra layer of warmth. The restaurant has a charming ambiance, making it a perfect dinner spot in West Village. Highly recommended!
